I really don’t think it’s 95% anymore, if it was ever quite that high, though it’s still way too many, and there’s a lot of grey area between awake and asleep.
We always accept the narrative that everyone but us is asleep, and that was mostly true not that long ago. the uncomfortable truth is our egos like the feeling of being way ahead of the curve, because it means we’re smarter than everyone else at least in that regard, and don’t want to admit that it’s going away and we’re becoming less and less of an isolated minority, and thus, less special, unique, and smarter than everyone else than we used to be.
