I agree. On a somewhat related note, I heard what I think is a profound point today that I never realized.
In the Old Testament with the sacrifice for forgiveness of sins it was required that the one who's sins were being forgiven be the one to kill the animal being sacrificed. The Gospel is for everyone and therefore both the Romans (the Gentiles) and the Jews (God's chosen people up to the time of Christ's death on the cross) had to BOTH participate in his death. God is amazing.
