Does anyone know what the deportation process looks like? So we grab a few dozen Somalis in Kansas tomorrow. What happens to them? Where are they taken? Do they get legal representation and if so will they spend some time in Government holding areas until their court date or will they be released until that date?
I guess what I'm getting at is they are presumed innocent until proven guilty, who decides their guilt and how long will they remain in America until their plane ride is arranged?
I can tell you some of the other areas. Depending on whether the person (not Somalians in this case) committed a crime - dui, selling drugs, battery...etc The person is in jail until ICE come to get them. They were given a check up by clinician and if DUI, technician for breathalyzer.
If they were caught on the border, then they are taken right away to ICE.

So it's not an immediate "get on the first plane leaving today". The will probably be in this country for a few more weeks once arrested. Hmmmmm
Once they are in the ICE detain, I have no idea after that.
