Where do you live lol? Not trying to be a dick but in the western US East Indian means anyone from the subcontinent of India. Regular Indian means Native American.
East Indians take American jobs, destroy entire apartments with curry and don’t want to be American generally. They only hire and promote their own.
Moving around, was just in Chicago for several months. Currently in Europe for Christmas with my family. i’ve never heard the term East Indian. Guess the term makes sense in these states with many natives. I’m guessing you’re in Arizona?
I was born and raised in Oregon until I married and moved to Canada in '76. From what I remember, In school, we learned that that the Caribbean Islands were the West Indies and the Native American Indians, or indigenous, played into that. Then moving to BC, there were Sikhs, Pakistanis, First Nations, Inuit, and Métis. 'Indian' is now a very broad term for several races of people. Many Inuit look like Indonesians. It's a 'melting pot' - this world of ours!
Why I hate East Indians with a passion
Why East Indians specifically? Kash is of Gujarat descent (Wikipedia), which is in western India
