The Hollies Lyrics
"Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress)"
Saturday night I was downtown
Working for the FBI
Sitting in a nest of bad men
Whiskey bottles piling high
Bootlegging boozer on the west side
Full of people who are doing wrong
Just about to call up the DA man
When I heard this woman sing a song
A pair of 45's made me open my eyes
My temperature started to rise
She was a long cool woman in a black dress
Just-a 5'9, beautiful, tall
With just one look I was a bad mess
'Cause that long cool woman had it all
I saw her heading to the table
Like a tall walking big black cat
When Charlie said I hope that you're able, boy
'Cause I'm telling you she knows where it's at
Then suddenly we heard the sirens
And everybody started to run
A-jumping out of doors and tables
When I heard somebody shooting a gun
Well the DA was pumping my left hand
And a-she was a-holding my right
Well I told her don't get scared
'Cause you're gonna be spared
I've gotta be forgiven if I wanna spend my living
With a long cool woman in a black dress
Just a 5'9 beautiful tall
Yeah, with just one look I was a bad mess
'Cause that long cool woman had it all
Had it all
Had it all
At a minimum, this song was odd choice considering the context of the event.
If the selector was aware of the lyrics, it was in very poor taste considering that, regardless of the similarities, playing a song about someone who got shot in front a recent widow who's husband got shot probably isn't the best idea.
The whole thing is strange, the whole Charlie Kirk and aftermath saga that is. At this point, I am completely over it and all the noise associated with it.
My first thought is, don't the speakers pick their own song for the walk out? If that's the case, could be Vance just likes the song and didn't think about the lyrics.
Considering how much the elite are all about symbolism, I would imagine song lyrics are a pretty easy decode. I remember back in 2008 John McStain used Bruce Springstein's "Born In The USA" as a campaign song and John Melloncamp bitched about publicly so they stopped.
The song is a satire of the American lifestyle and, at the time, I thought it was him being stupid and not having someone check the song for content. Now, knowing how terrible of a person he was, I'll be willing to bet you it was at least somewhat intentional.

Such a great classic song! ✨❤️
How was JD Vance the assassin? That makes no sense at all.
That is not the position of the OP.
Watch the clip again fren.
I’m sure it will, somehow, to more than one person on this board.
Must have used his pope-killing magic. Remotely.

This was exactly my sentiments by late September. The amount of noise being generated was in and of itself one of the most telling aspects.

Left-wing nut jobs.
