I think this is a situation where ALL parties involved deserve blame. Kids with zero financial knowledge were given "free money", colleges gave them a worthless education, and the government allowed the money to flow. How is a positive outcome expected out of all that?
FWIW, it starts with the fact that kids are given ZERO financial education in school aside from balancing a checkbook. Probably because if they were they'd never go to college...
