Much like the playing cards and the game solitaire. There is also marble (or peg) solitaire. From the link I provided.
Then there's also the lonely little game of solitaire, where the aim is to remove 32 marbles and place the last one in the 33rd hole. In French, solitaire is sol and taire, words well worth looking up in a dictionary.
So, we have playing cards and solitaire games that come from tracking the days, seasons, and the cycle of the Sun.
Edit: I missed the link to your picture. Interesting idea. I ran across a video recently that talked about these bags and "pine cones" that you may find interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDXgq19o3us
Thanks for the link - There are several interpretations on the pinecone & bag...and other things. Especially when you get into the Egyptian dynasties and their "divine right to rule" bs carried right thru to present day. Sean Hross had some really good info on some of these symbols ~ what anyone would think were just design elements - EVERY.THING. has meaning...in the world of symbolism/architecture/design etc.
Holy shit!
Are you thinkin what I'm thinkin???!!!
