You have to understand Montgomery County, TX.
It's just North of Houston, and there are a LOT of places there where people (bodies) can get lost.
New Caney is pretty special. They have their own culture going on, poor, largely Hispanic and country working folk. You don't go there unless you belong, are related or there for a reason.
Cut-n-Shoot, Woodbranch, Grangerland, etc... there's a lot of heavily forested river bottom land where something can be kept until the next river flood carries it 20 miles downstream. There's also a lot of rural drug use in some of those areas.
The perp is lucky the police got him. There are some areas you can mess around... but some areas of Montgomery County aren't those. North of New Caney, you can shoot off a 12-gauge in your front yard or street and nobody will ask questions, no neighbors heard it or saw anything. Dude got lucky it didn't go further. If this guy had friends or big family, it could have gone much worse.
Montgomery County and the entire area is full of Patriots. Remember POTUS has his largest Rally in that area. I'm shocked that the guy was found alive...
