Tried many times but nobody can ever tell me what prayer is or how to do it. They always come out with some crazy woo like "just open your heart", as if you could do that without bleeding to death.
Someone got jailed here recently for "silently praying" outside an abortion clinic and there was an argument in court about whether they were praying (illegal), or simply thinking (legal). Unsurprisingly nobody could decide.
Consider praying to God as a conversation with Him. It doesn’t have to be like something you read in the Bible with poetic phrases. Just keep it heartfelt. Give Him thanks for all the blessings in your life. Ask for understanding, forgiveness, discernment, guidance, your personal needs. God wants your sincere heart. You can’t deceive him. He knows what you need before you may realize it. Just start the conversation, the more you pray, the closer that you will feel to Him.
Also, end your prayer with “In Jesus’ name, Amen”. Pray with faith that God hears you and will answer it according to His will. Don’t be surprised if He answers your prayer in a different and much better way than you asked of Him.
Also, Matthew 6:5-15 Jesus teaches His disciples how to pray. You'll notice a few key points:
Acknowledge God's Holiness
Ask God sincerely for whatever you need
There's no fancy ceremonies required. You dont have to face east and bow your head on a carpet 5 times. You just talk to God.
He actually already knows what you need before you ask Him, but He wants you to ask Him. (Im the same way with toddlers. I already know what they want, but they need to ask politely)
Ask for the forgiveness of your sins
Forgive others who sinned against you
His will is greater than our will. And whatever He wills, WILL be done. And if our request is within His will, it WILL be done, and nothing and no one can stop it.
The first way, literally I just talk to Him about whatever I want to talk to Him about. He can read our mind so you can talk to Him silently in your head or out loud. I go through my day and talk to Him in my head constantly. I ask for His help with things constantly. Or I'll tell Him I dont understand something and I'll ask Him for insight. Or even just walking in the woods I tell Him how much I love His creation and how thankful I am for it and how happy it makes me. I talk to Him in my head allllllll day long.
The second way I pray is focused prayer:
This is when i want be laser focused on a specific area. I like to lay down in my bed, close my door and close my eyes and set my mind on God. And I talk to Him specifically about one area. In fact, while typing this, I set my phone down for a minute and prayed specifically for Trump and Q, and for God's blessing on them as they fight the luciferians and for liberation from luciferian control.
But in both scenarios, you literally just talk to God about whatever is on your mind. Because of Christ, our connection to God is restored and we can talk to Him like our own dads. He is the Most High, Supreme Holy God, and Creator of All, and He is our Dad.
Prayer is simply a conversation with God. Nothing fancy. He already knows your thoughts, so just be honest. Like all good relationships, it works best when you listen as well as talk. Go to the Bible and begin to read to start to learn His thoughts. You can have a running conversation with Him all day long. One of the things I ask for most is to see things the way He sees them. Then watch for answers - you'll see them!
Go to church. Or congregate with others who do have a relationship with Jesus. They can help you, show you, talk to you. In person of course or somehow face to face I suppose.
