I agree with your assessment of Soviet inner and outer control influence under the various leaders.
Sadly though, there was still much evil and turmoil amongst the satellites regardless.
That type of inner control should never be replicated.
My personal guess is that Stalin found out the true depth of evil and decided to squash it all. He used an iron fist no doubt, but his targets were mostly Khazarians.
But you are correct - we should never let such a type of control system anywhere. I think we were headed there.
