Australia is quietly rolling out age checks for search engines like Google
Just as Australians are adjusting to the idea of having their ages checked for social media, age assurance rules are being applied to search engines and many other corners of the internet.
Starting 2 days ago, Australians are now required to upload their ID to use a search engine.
Digital ID. Age checks. Biometric gateways.
Australia is the beta test for a world where freedom and privacy quietly die... and it won't stop there.
The ADL were instrumental in pushing this one Australians. This should be illegal and rejected by ALL of Australia.
Dumbasses gave up their guns in 1996 and now they are paying the price.
Yeah, I personally returned a Carl Gustav launcher and an AT-6 Wolverine.
What a completely and utterly myopic, mentally stunted, bubbling lipped, tongue swallowing dotard I was.
Please, for the love of God, send me a slingshot or a bolas in the mail.
You made my day Brother! Praying your New Year is awesome and you politicians all go on a walkabout for a couple years.
Glad you got a laugh. I was also making a point that I, like the vast majority of Australian did not give up anything. We weren't armed to start with, but soon that needs to change.

Apple has introduced its own digital ID, connected to Apple Wallet, that it advertises as a faster way to deal with the TSA at airports. But Glenn Beck warns: digital IDs, whether issued by governments or private companies, are a BAD IDEA! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5zr_0OTO3o
I'm sure...
So the conspiracy theorists were right then?
It'll be interesting to see the work arounds that emerge, the push back, and what they try next because this won't work. kek..
"The internet sees censorship as an error and routes around it."
Workaround 1 do not log in. (ding...ding...ding...ding)
Workaround 2 use a non google/microsoft search engine and browser. (don't login)
Workaround 3 use a VPN. (don't login)
Workaround 4 Use TOR. (don't login)
Workaround 5 Run your own instance of Yacy and host your own search engine. (login if you got OCD)
Work around 6 Copy a cookie off your parents computer and auto-login as them. (auto login)
Workaround 7 Use AI generated photos to pass yourself off as eighty five. (and then login like a chump)
Workaround 8 Use.....to...... ad infinitum.
What stops the user from using a bookmarked page or typing a web address in directly?
Sometimes a search engine isn't needed.
But it is sad to watch them attempt to put Pandora back in box...never really works in end but try "they" must I suppose.
You have to do them the courtesy of logging in so they can block you.
You have already been proven correct in "watch them attempt to put Pandora back in box...never really works in end" and by end you mean beginning.
There is going to be a second Internet .
