Yes it does make perfect sense. He designed us as well as all the fuel we need to sustain our body, mind, and spirit. Why rely on fake stuff made in a lab by man that has been proven time and again to be poison and harmful? Better to rely on what He provided us. An engineer designs a system around what energy source it will use to operate. Why would the Master Creator not do the same for His designs?
A far better life awaits us with Him in Heaven but it would be foolish to destroy ourselves with man made crap. We can have a wonderful and joyful life following His wisdom and using the provisions He has provided us. Chasing synthetic unnatural supplements and manipulating the design of our bodies is trusting ourselves over God. Our creator, Who knows how to best sustain us physically, mentally, and spiritually. It’s called practicing good stewardship over what He has given us. He will take care of the rest.
I whole heartedly believe we can heal ourselves, but the mechanisms we were given to do that with have been suppressed (John 14:12)
Until I figure out how to properly utilize my God given gifts (working on it) I will continue to use another wonderful gift, discernment.

Not so much the healing yourself part but trying to understand and utilize the gifts God gave us helps us narrow down on finding the purpose He created us for. We are most fulfilled when following His spirit over our own. The hardest battles in this life are about abandoning self to serve God and when victorious they are the most rewarding.

While the Bible contains all forms of writing including poetry and metaphors, there are too many verses that speak plainly and directly about Jesus returning physically and performing physical actions. Off the top of my head Thessalonians, Titus, Revelation all have language supporting a physical return. There are many others.
All parts of language need to be acknowledged when reading the Bible. Original Hebrew definitions, cultural context of how those words are used, who the specific audience is, during which covenant, grammar, etc.
