Does anyone konw someone who has had their passport banned for other reasons? This is certainly a scary reality if there is an effort to ban passports for wrong think.

I do think it would be great if this goes through because I have always felt that dual citizenship means you do not have full alliance to the United States.
I definitely appreciate your perspective. I think that anyone who holds office should have only US citizenship.
My mother was originally from Europe and retained dual citizenship. It made it easier for her to travel back and forth when she returned to visit family. I think that it also made it possible for her to collect a pension check or social security that she had paid into and was eligible for from her home country. I was personally eligible for it and it would have benefited my kids if I had gotten it. Probably because of my own experience, it doesn't bother me personally. I'm definitely a patriot. If I had dual citizenship and had to choose, it wouldn't be a difficult choice to make.
I have no issue with withdrawal/cancelation of passports if the holder has another passport. I don't believe a passport can be canceled if the holder has no other passport and making them stateless.
