Romans 11 explains it quite nicely. 2 kinds of "Jews" - those who oppose Christ and those who have accepted the Messiah. The "Israel of God" is the Church - comprised of believing Jews and Gentiles. Unbelieving "Jews" are the broken off branches. They can be grafted back in - IF they believe. Gentiles are grafted in "amongst" the believing Jews. There's plenty of room on the olive tree!
I've dared to go down that rabbit hole. It helped form my opinion of this disgusting goblin people.
