China and Russia have quietly been trying to establish a foothold in the area for years and they are already there. This came onto Trump's radar some time ago and he was sounding the alarm. But like everything else he tried to bring attention to, it was ignored. Now Trump is trying to do something about it while all the others were content to bury their heads in the sand. Nothing to see here.
