I know. Germany sent the biggest contingent of soldiers. So now the EU-defence of Greenland, or Dane-honor is down to a handful of individuals. Their argument? The Vikings got there before Columbus found America, or something to that effect.
Let me tell you about Vikings.
Anyway.
The reality is the population that lives there, be they Viking-descent or Inuit, or akshual Danish, or even some Americans.
Pragmatically speaking, with todays mil-tech: Warm bodies in the snow are very easy to find. Just saying. Think: Jason Bourne's escape from a drone, in some very cold place. Also, missiles or drones can travel a long way, so one is simply ill-advised to even send a small team to a frozen land, just 'cos some stupid geopolitical shenanigans.
Politicians ought to have an IQ test or something, before being allowed to run. Also, they need to wear all their donor-names on their clothing when running. With neon ones on their hats, for the spook-infested ones.
Keep in mind that Germany is NOT SOVEREIGN!
