An arctic blast follows Sunday, dropping temps below zero in the Plains and Midwest with wind chills to -30°F, even chilling Florida enough for school closures. Panic buying empties Walmart shelves in places like Kentucky, natural gas prices surge 75%, and officials urge stocking supplies, dripping faucets and avoiding travel to brace for outages and exploding trees from extreme cold.

Lordy! Yep lol. I live right outside NOLA and the second a Snowflake floats down, people freak. However, to be FAIR to those of us who do NOT live with normal winter weather, we react exactly how those of you who do NOT live in hurricane country react when a hurricane is hitting you.
My proof? Ft Dix NY 1985 hurricane Gloria hit. I know bc i was there. One other chick from Slidell and I were pulled from our basic training group to help secure everything since we had already lived thru many. Those who had not were in a panic. Watched it with my very own two eyes. The screaming and crying when the baby cat 1 hit was ridiculous

I was in Georgia one year - actually passing through to NOLA/Slidell and there was black ice on the road. Oh boy...like crash up derby on I75/I20 - "What should we do? FLOOR IT!!!?? HERE WE GO!!!" 😁
First time in NOLA I was like 20, went to the Quarter and was walking around...garage door opened up..."Yall want a Hurricane?" I was like pfft okay! Well that set me on my ass good...It was probably like a 40oz jungle juice and everclear mix...I think I drove home with one hand over one eye to stop the double vision lol
