Actually i have a theory about this, consider the roles given to esch member at the time. Why would satan speak to eve and not try to tempt Adam?
Adam's task was to go out and name every beast of the earth, so adam interacted with all the animals, adam would know the common charismatics of each animals, for example which animals possess complex speech. Eve however wasnt given such a task, meaning Eve had no way of knowing animals aren't supposed to be able to talk. Eve's naivete about the world is why satan picked her to decieve and not Adam.
