It's about the percentage of your income taxed (obviously). If you're a multi-billionaire of course even one percent of your income is going to be more money than the sum of a whole lot of poor people's tax "contribution". Would anyone really complain about taxes if they were paying around one percent or nothing? FYI: most of those "top earners" (I think that 40% number is fake news FYI) could be paying massively less or nothing if they understood the tax code like the wealthy and mega corps do. The wealthy and mega corps pay nothing because they funnel all their money into NGOs/non-profits that they control and it comes right back to them in one form or another.
Rather than be jealous of the 1 percenters, why not strive to be at that level? I don't strive to, but I don't complain that "the rich aren't paying enough tax".

I never said that the rich aren't paying enough taxes. Try and re-read what i said. I said poor people shouldn't pay taxes because rich people don't.
