I don't care for this dude at all. And I don't particularly care, but I do wonder which way he'll swing. Will he swing for the money and demons despite his Jesus claims? Or will he do the righteous thing and burn his many bridges in the industry? (He probably doesn't need them anymore but he would need to realize that to take it a step further)
Despite the sly reference to party affiliation in his speech, Jelly deflected a political question in the pressroom shortly after, saying, “People shouldn’t care to hear my opinion. I’m a dumb redneck” and “I hate to be the artist that sounds aloof, but I just feel so disconnected from what’s happening.” But then he almost directly contradicted that thought when he said a second later, “I have a lot to say about it, and I’m going to in the next week, and everybody’s going to hear exactly what I have to say about it the most loud and clear way I’ve ever spoken in my life.”
I mostly listen to country music and old rock. I’m not going to judge if a person is a true believer in Jesus or not. It’s God’s place to judge what people do and what’s in their heart. I’ve never listened to him and won’t listen to him. Even if he’s singing with a favorite artist I don’t listen. I’d never go see him in concert. I feel this way for multiple reasons. 1, I can’t stand to look at him with all those tattoos. There’s another artist, Post Malone, can’t stand the face tattoos. If you have let go of your old life and can afford tattoo removal why not do it. People with out this level of money have tattoos removed for different reasons. I’m not against tattoos, can’t deal with them on the face. 2, His wife is a higher money level prostitute. If you have changed how can you support your wife getting it on with other dudes? I have friends who were fans until they watched his bio documentary that came out in the last two years. Now they aren’t fans after watching that. That’s all I know about him, enough for me not to bother listening to him, musically or talking. I hope for his sake he has accepted Jesus as his lord and savior.
Number 2 is definitely a concern-number 1, I'll give him time to decide what he wants to do with face tats.
I get the consternation, But there are a lot of personal connections that come into things like that. Could be a reminder of what he was and what he overcame every time he looks in the mirror, so I won't judge solely on that
I can understand your observations. I just can’t watch him or listen. I try not to judge people. Also, I just don’t like his voice or style of music. I don’t wish him ill will and don’t wish him not to be successful.
I don't like his music or voice either, honestly. I'm just curious what type of stand he's going to take.
I’m so out of the loop with most newer artists I didn’t know he was taking a stand or anything. I saw his clip on instagram accepting the award with Brandon Lake. He’s a big Christian artist, I hadn’t heard of him until Cody Johnson (country) sung on his latest song. I like his, Brandon Lake, music but I don’t know anything about him. I’m not trusting of anyone with multiple Grammy awards.
