Not with Lars on drums and that freak Kirk Hammett on lead guitar!
And say what you will about Megadeth ... I get Metallica has sold over 100M albums more and are a hell of a lot more popular ... However, Megadeth never dressed up like queers and wore makeup like Metallica did during the Reload - St Anger era :-) ... That alone puts Megadeth on a higher plane of metal existence :-). They never went the "more retarded than Poison and Motley Crue route :-)"
(I love keeping the Megadeth vs Metallica fight alive :-) ... I still love Metallica's first three albums as much as any Megadeth's albums ... I just always preferred Megadeth and will continue that war even if Dave and Metallica somehow tour together.)
Same fren! I really do like Megadeth too. Just a little banter about Ride the Lightning. Saw Metallica live but sadly won't have a chance to see Megadeth. BTW, we don't talk about the Reload St Anger era. It's forbidden.
Oh and I agree, Lars is a mediocre drummer at best. And a whiney dickhead... kek
I dug Dave's REAL version of Ride the Lightning :-) ... Metallica's version on RtL was a cover :-p ... Seriously though, James' vocals blow Dave'a away and give that song one hell of a punch. Even if Dave were in his 20s and could scream those lyrics only the way he can, I'd still have to give Metallica's version the edge.
I've only seen Metallica live twice ... Two times on the ... And Justice For All tour. I somehow made it to the front row the second time (my tickets were for the nosebleed section ... A friend I ran into got me onto the floor) ... I was close enough to read the EET FUCK as clear as a bell on James' guitar. It was fucking crazy to say the least :-). Getting smashed up against a railing was never so much fun.
I've seen Megadeth 8 times last I counted ... First time was in 88. Last time was 2000 iirc ... I plan on seeing them on their farewell tour (though that tour is gonna be at least 3 years ... Possibly longer from what I understand) though this last album is technically Megadeth's third last album :-).
I don't have a jealous personality, but I certainly envy you for the front row view when they were in their prime. That is awesome!
Well, if this isn't Megadeth's LAST tour, maybe I will have an opportunity to see them. Nothing on this tour that I would be able to make it to without taking out a lone to travel. Might be worth it though......
Side note, EET FUK translate to EAT SHIT in Dutch. kek
Yep.
I have to comment that Metallica does, and forever will, play it better. I know you know. I'll fight ya over it. kek
