An Obama-appointed judge ordered the Trump administration to facilitate the return to the United States of deported illegal aliens suspected of being members of the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang.

In a decision on Thursday, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia Chief Judge James Boasberg stated that the Trump administration needed to “remedy the wrong that it perpetrated” by deporting hundreds of Venezuelan migrants to El Salvador, according to Politico.

If Trump Refuses the Court Order;

If the Trump administration refuses to comply with Judge Boasberg’s order, the court can hold the government or specific officials in contempt of court. This could lead to civil or criminal penalties, including fines or, in extreme cases, jail time for responsible officials. Boasberg has already indicated probable cause for criminal contempt, citing the administration’s willful disregard of prior orders when deportations proceeded despite a restraining order.
