Partly this. Partly other religions. One in particular start to get very….explodey and or lawsuit happy. When criticisms and jokes at their expense come up.
Christianity is also one of the really exclusively Western Religions. That combined with modern philosophical and political heritages of current Democratic/Republican ideals of Western Nations. Generally makes Christianity far more tolerant of affronts and sacrilege other religions won’t tolerate. Out of respect for the ideas of Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion etc.
It’s also one of the ‘safe edgy’ things for teenagers and people perpetually resentful they got Drug to Church constantly in their childhood. To mock and insult. Allowing them to feel like the Rebels they pretend to be. Without any of the downsides of actually being societal/social outcasts and misfits.
Christianity is not a Western religion at all.
Actually, not a religion; It's a faith and evidence-based mind and heart submission to tbe Triune God and Creator of all things, who loves us and gave Himself unto death for us so that we can live forever with Him, who wants to commune with us and to love us, as He intended as we are created in His image
It began in Israel and spread across the globe. And is spreading more everyday.
Not a Western/white-man religion. I lived in Congo...many Christians. Navajo res...many Christians. Cherokee res...same.
Jerusalem is the most important place on Earth.
This and so few get it. Q is worldwide and the conflating of "whiteness" and Christianity has really got to stop.
And you are right. It's a practice. And a practice men have been persecuted over for centuries.
