THE FACTS
The Milky Way Galaxy has 100-400 billion stars (suns) Est. 8 trillion planets (Earth is 1) Galaxies Observable Universe: Est. 200-billion to two-trillion galaxies. The milky Way is just one. Faint, un-observable galaxies: 6 to 20 trillion
Knowing this information… well, only fools and idiots could even entertain an idea the earth and its inhabitants are the only living, intelligent species. It is irrational, insane, an indefensible idea that we are alone. We couldn’t be.
In science, the probability of us NOT being alone is a statistical “absolute”! We aren’t alone.
This leads us to only one question: Who, on earth, is preventing us from full disclosure? What are their names? It is time they all stepped aside. Relieve them of all responsibility, all power, all control mechanisms.
Any human being standing against full disclosure is essentially resigning from their post. Relieved of duty. Politely asked to step aside, take a seat and STFU. It’s just time for this.
Anyone disagree?
Everything we observe demands a beginning. This is not religious claim. I am not aware of any scientists claiming an infinite universe.
I am only aware of religious people making this claim (Hinduism).
We observe conservation of mass-energy. We observe entropy only increasing towards an inevitable heat death. Everything around us is expiring. Our sun even has a short lifetime (compared to infinite time). Claiming an infinite past to our universe is pseudoscience.
AI makes it a joke to refute this nonsense. It's too easy.
Key Perspectives and Proponents
Historical Figures: Early proponents of an infinite universe included Willem de Sitter, who proposed the idea in 1917.
Scientific Arguments for Infinity: Flat Geometry: Cosmological measurements of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) suggest the universe has a flat, Euclidean geometry, which strongly implies an infinite spatial extent.
Inflation Theory: Many inflationary models predict that the universe should be vastly larger than the observable portion, potentially stretching to infinity.
Skeptics/Alternative Views: Some scientists, such as Sabine Hossenfelder, George Ellis, and Paul Steinhardt, are more cautious, questioning whether the infinite nature of the universe is scientifically testable or simply metaphysical speculation.
Current Understanding
Observable vs. Total: Scientists distinguish between the observable universe (finite) and the total universe (unknown).
"Effectively" Infinite: Many astronomers consider the universe to be "effectively" infinite, meaning it is so immense that for all practical observational purposes, it is indistinguishable from one that is truly infinite.
Summary While not proven, the concept of an infinite universe is a prevailing theme in modern cosmology, particularly in studies concerning flat spacetime and the inflationary big bang.
You are conflating infinite space with infinite matter and time. The universe is not infinite in past time. There is no indication it is infinite in mass and energy.
The universe is not infinite in future time in the sense that work can continue to be completed. We are headed towards heat death.
You have evidence there was a beginning? How do you know.
It is an inference based off the laws of thermodynamics. The big bang cosmology even recognizes this limit when looking into the past. The universe is unwinding, expanding, and becoming more chaotic. You can only wind the clock back so far. It is not an infinite cyclic phenomena.
