Pretty much. Jonah Goldberg, before he became an anti-Trump moron, wrote an important book on the subject called Liberal Fascism. It said that Stalin started the global propaganda campaign asserting that fascism was a right wing creation. I find that probable. The winners write history.
I love informing idiot libs that fascism was invented by a devoted socialist in Mussolini. You can hear their circuits frying.
Genoa, Venice and Pisa power was based on fascist principles centuries before Mussolini. Mussolini defined it as the melding of the corporate and the state and those three city-states were held by the banking families. And they are most likely founding cabal members.
That melding explanation is the most accurate. I explain it as socialism that outsources the means of production to corporate contractors. People who are less poli-sci savvy tend to understand that.
