This is similar to electronic ballast power control for florescent lights (for higher voltage). I have been dealing with these recently as I rebuild some lights to counter the forced LED bullshit being pushed on us. Supply of ballasts is being severely restricted in CA and other western states for force everyone to adopt LEDs. We may have to start building our own ballasts soon.
