This may be an ignorant question, but is it normal for their pilots to communicate in English? Genuinely curious.

I was just going to say the same thing. I'm wondering if they don't have "TARGET" or "DESTROYED" in their own languages??

I'm also wondering if it's due to English being the official language for aircraft airport traffic??

There are certainly words for that in Arabic.

That’s a good point though, with this being a multinational operation, perhaps all air traffic communication is being done in English.

IIRC all pilots must speak English for air traffic control… not sure about MIL but seems plausible.
