we would have to get the individual people wearing the rings charts to determine how the ring would help each person. Or rather, why they believe they need to wear it, and it's also time sensitive. They could be in a period where they need it but typically someone doesn't just wear it forever.
If we see them with it on forever, every time we see them, then it's probably some club or secret society ring. Especially if they're all the same ornate design for the ring itself. But if we just see them wearing it occassionally then it's probably something a spiritual advisor is recommending they wear for a short time.
Super common in India and countries that practice Vedic Astrology, or what the west calls Natal Biology.
Fun fact, some scientists in the west tried to disprove Vedic Astrology as fake, but ended up proving it. Ego was so strong that they proved themselves wrong, they decided to name it something else. Hence the name Natal Biology. But its essentially a western scentific approach to Vedic Astrology that has been in the East for thousands of years.
In all fairness this is probably catagorized under the forbidden knowledge from the tree in the garden of eden, the underlying workings of things, a gateway to manipulating ones environment without physically interacting with it.
Jesus is the only way to eternal salvation, there's no other path. The rest is just different ways to help ones self to "enlightenment" but "enlightment" is not "salvation". I felt it important to make that distinction since I'm posting about it.

Glad you clarified that distinction.
Just my own observations here: I have noticed that among the Islamists, they seem to have the ring on all the time. The others seem to wear the red ring only occasionally. So possibly their are different reasons or meanings behind its use for different groups.
