If a shortage from the ME continues, Trump will open up the strategic reserves to keep this country running, but I imagine he'd also order an increase in oil exports to cover the loss of shipping thru Strait of Hormuz.
However, Iran's claim over the strait is basically in name only now, so once the shipping and insurance companies calm down, shipping should resume realitvely soon. Continued bombing of Iran's missile and weapons production sites will only reinforce that notion and show the world Iran is just a paper lion at this point.
And if it doesn't, fine. We can take over a lot of the lost oil production already just with our domestic capabilities. We've damn near effectively shored up both American Continents, so increasing production here and in Venezuel/S.America to mitigate the losses should already be coming soon, if not already in the works.
