Iran will face armed Kurdish troops, and troops taking over some areas of coastal Iran from Syria, probably Turkey, Saudi Arabia, UAE and other regional interests.
If I were in Iran, I would prefer having U.S. troops invade vs. facing troops from upset Arab nations.
If anyone thinks the war in Iran is over once a new government takes over and partial control is established... that's just the opening kickoff.
There will be plenty of IRGC soldiers who are armed and fled to Afghanistan, Iraq or Pakistan and are just waiting to return. There will be issues with Kurdish separatists, tribal conflicts, conflicts with neighboring countries, etc... . Even international aid will be minimized, only available in limited areas due to security problems. The Iranian oil and gas industry will keep being repaired, but will keep getting attacked by different militant groups. Iran armed and trained many armed terror groups... and many of those are still in Iran or will return to join in the fighting.
Iran won't see U.S. troops on the ground.

Iran will be a battle-royal for the next 2-years.
