People forget that most politicians are already wealthy when they enter politics. Just look at President Trump.
It takes money to run for office, and to win, so the majority of politicians are wealthy before they enter politics.
Either they have a high paying career before they get into politics or they marry into money. And it's not like their spouses are working at Walmart. Most of them have high paying careers as well.
Do I think that politicians are corrupt and doing some shady stuff? Of course. Insider trading is a biggie, I think. They are privy to a lot of information that that the general public isn't.
But these types of posts are silly. It acts like politicians are all broke before entering politics.
That may have been true in the past, but look at how many have entered politics nearly broke or in severe debt, only to see their wealth exponentially increase year over year while in office.
It doesn't take a financial expert to see that modern day politics is nothing more than fraud built upon a ponzi scheme of epic proportions.
There's only a handful of politicians in D.C. that seem to have remained relatively honest so have NOT become über wealthy as a result.
