Trump knew this guy was going to fail spectacularly. And he wanted it to happen as soon as possible to compress the time of recovery. The optics couldn't be better for showcasing the moral corruptness of both Islam and communism in the world's biggest city.

Kind of like operation warp speed NYC. .
