Kinda genius if you think about it. Shut down the mid east oil markets, due to Iran instability and increase world exports of American oil to increase revenues and tarrifs..

President Trump does not want to do any damage to Kharg Island because it would take a lot of money and effort to restore it to a prewar capacity. He wants the Iranian people to use the proceeds from the sale of its oil to help themselves. Bomb all the military targets he can, but leave vital infrastructure alone.
