I actually agree with this, because my sons have had to be continuously de-programmed, so that they didn't lift too much weight, for example. OR take too much creatine, or pound down multiple protein smoothies all day. That phase was OK, except they kind of went off eating normal food, until I put my foot down.
Young bodies should ease into that stuff gently, while they are still growing. There are way too many hacks promoting all sorts of fad ideas out there.
Also, young brains don't have discernment, so, one son became obsessed with deadlifts. Good grief. Youtube is a menace.
Tell them to pick up lighter weights and hold a full body flex for 30-60 seconds, weights out away from the body. Focus on core and good overall form. This is said to form stronger denser muscle, it's safer, and quite efficient time wise. A few sets of these and you feel the same as an hour at the gym. The holds can be done at all different arm angles too.
EU "men" are already unfit. So are most of the other Western "men." The last generation to produce any real men of quality and worth was the first half of the Millenial generation. And that's only because they grew up getting the piss beat out of them by us Gen Xers who helped raise them while our Boomer parents both had to work.
After that, it's been a steadily increasing downward slope. I know my Gen Z boys and my Gen Alpha daughter are straight, as are their friends, but that's only because I had to step in and teach them all because some of their parents couldn't or wouldn't do the job right. I spent many a night around a bonfire and many an afternoon at my house imparting my knowledge and values onto them. They've all thanked me for it, too. As a result, all of them are well-balanced and mindful adults and teens, but they see where this society is heading and it worries them. It worries me, too.

Yes, that's happening, thanks.
The newer videos are more realistic and tell people to make slow progress and have realistic expectations

WW I and WW II killed millions of European men.
A 4th cousin of mine lost his grandfather early in WW I and his father early in WW II. Fortunately he had some uncles to mentor him.
