So today I ran into a former work colleague. She was one of the first on the Trump Train back in 2015. 100% Maga, bled red white and blue. I haven't seen her for a few years but saw on FB that she voted for Potus in 24. Ran into her shopping and she was so black pilled, I didn't recognize her. He promised no new wars, he promised the Epstein files, he promised lower prices and everything is going up due to this cursed war. This, that and the other. It's like she expected the man to do miracles.
I was actually so surprised by her attitude, I could scarcely think. To me, he's done an amazing job. I keep hearing the left saying that there are 'a lot of people' who voted for Trump and regret it. I didn't believe it because I never met one, until today. I never could have believed she would turn on him. I was about to point out the good things he has done when her husband came over and pulled her away.
It got me to thinking, I want to make a list and keep it with me at all times in case something like this happens again. I don't want to be so flummoxed I can't think straight. What would you have said to her? Please list some of the great things you believe Trump has done. And if you know of anybody keeping track on line, please let me know. (Like Magapill back in the day, only current.) Thanks, frens.
Technically speaking we’ve been in several undeclared states of War he inherited for decades. Iran is one of those.
Most people don’t acknowledge them as wars. Partly Because they don’t fit the traditional depiction of war of bombs flying and devastated cities. And partly their Television/Podcast of choice didn’t tell them they were actually wars.
Part of the issue is people want him to rule domestically like a King. Quick and Decisive brokering no dissent from the other branches or layers of Government. Not to mention private companies. While still somehow respecting the Markets, Legal Traditions, Separation of Powers, States Rights, the Bill of Rights etc.
Meanwhile in foreign affairs. The President and Executive Branch have far more legal freedom to pursue decisive actions. Free of meddling by both Congress, State, and Local Government. And the other branches of Government.
Essentially many people in the U.S. want all the benefits of more direct Authoritarian Rule Domestically. Ala quick, direct, and decisive action. After decades of incompetence and decline under the management of the current prevailing system. While still also simultaneously wanting all the benefits of decentralized Republicanism/Democracy. Like we were raised to believe in. And none of the drawbacks of either.
That however is not how real life works
No it isn't and you've made great points. Thanks.
