I have been making a deliberate effort to stay home and truly honor the Sabbath with my family.
It made me realize that no matter what is going on with the world, Godliness starts at home. Kiss your kiddos, love your spouse, and rest as God had rested.
He will take care of us, no matter how scared or oppressed we are. We are over the target when the world attacks us, so Pray, Have Faith, Love Your Neighbors and Honor God and the Sabbath.
I love you guys, and thanks for being so awesome. God Bless.
Sabbath is Saturday not Sunday. The Catholics changed the Sabbath day.
I guess I am different in how I interpret it. I needed money for our family so I worked overtime on Saturday. I think it is just as godly to pick a day that works to rest with my family. Sunday just happens to be that day. God doesn't want us to not provide for our families. I have seen debate on what day specifically in both directions, but I don't think that's the point. Unpopular opinion, it should be when you are able. My mom has to work 7 days a week part time because she has to provide for my disabled dad with dementia. They can't afford a day off, and it breaks my heart that I can't help. But I pray the Lord provides no matter what, but we have to put in effort also.
Yes! The message is a good one.
But that is my fishing day !
Lol
I consider it rest, you are enjoying God's creation and not working
Amen good Fren.
🙏🙏🙏😎
The Sabbath is not required of Christians BUT my wife and I make a concerted effort when the Sabbath comes, what we do, we do together and make it a day of rest and enjoyment with each other. People that say they will never keep the Sabbath do not understand that when Jesus reigns from David's throne in Jerusalem, the Temple will only be opened on the Sabbath day.
It’s one of the Ten Commandments.
How it it not required?
It was required for the nation Israel and the Jews.It is NOT a requirement for Christians. Our "rest" is in Jesus who fulfilled the Law in our stead. The Jerusalem Council was asked this very question because the Jewish converts were trying to make the Gentile believers keep the Law.
Act 15:23 And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia: Act 15:24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment: Act 15:25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, Act 15:26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Act 15:27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth. Act 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; Act 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
Everyone will keep the Sabbath when Jesus establishes His Kingdom but at this time it is not a requirement for Christians. Faith in Jesus as the Messiah and Savior is all that is required for salvation. Keeping the Law gives a false sense of righteousness which Paul accounted as worthless compared to knowing Jesus.
Wow. So the other 10 Commandments also do not apply to “modern Christians”?
Now you are being foolish. Jesus codified the Law in the Sermon on the Mount. Not only should you not murder--Thou shalt no kill----but to even be angry with your brother is a sin since you have murdered him in your heart, You are not to commit fornication---Thou shalt not commit adultry----now you are not to even lust after a woman. The entire concept keeping the Law is a matter of the heart. The Commandments ---according to Paul----was his way of life and he was guiltless regarding keeping the Law---not only the big 10 but the other 639 laws the Jews had added-----and he counted it as dung. God looks at the heart and what He is doing with you---not what you can do. The Commandments are just a "shadow" of what God wants us to do.
I know i'm not going to hell if I don't honor sabbath, but I think a lot of it is just wisdom. Because it doesn't do good for anybody to not have a day off
God established the Sabbath at creation. He made it a sign for the nation Israel showing they were God's people. The 10 Commandments were given to Israel when they came out of Egypt written on tables of stone. When a person accepts Jesus as their Savior, the laws are written on our hearts--not on tables of stone. One is physical and the other is spiritual. Just as the Sabbath Year every seven years. the year of Jubilee every 50th year and all of God's Holy Days point are a shadow of God's plan for humanity.
I didnt know most of that, thank you
Do a study on God's Holy days. They reveal God's entire plan of salvation for us.
“Sabbath” was yesterday. Nothing “restful” about Sunday over here
❤️
Sabbath was made for us not us for it so enjoy it
Made for by Him, our Creator, to worship Him instead of work (aka worldly tasks).
You think the Ten Commandments are “foolish”?
I’m saying that Jesus did not come to destroy the, but to save it.
The Ten Commandments were literally written by the hand of God.
You are very confused and lost. I can’t continue to debate either someone with such a perverse viewpoint.
Good luck!
What? Lol
