I remember being served food that had been canned in the 1950’s. The government was ripped off. The same with some of the MREs. Steak is a huge morale booster.

In 1964 I saw dehydrated eggs from 1943- in port, fresh eggs were available but the cooks didn't cook them right-runny eggs, bleh!!😬
