Thank you for the reminder to be like the Bereans in Acts 17:11.
Got Questions is a great launching point, but all things are to be tested against Scripture.
Yet, I'm also reminded of what C. S. Lewis wrote in the beginning of Mere Christianity, and I'm paraphrasing here, that some of our conflicting discussions are akin to a family squabble that is pointless to an outsider. We're discussing the meat while some are at the stage of drinking milk, to paraphrase Paul.
Let's not let those internal disputes turn away a soul that is seeking salvation and truth like the theif on the cross. We can't know the mind of God and every mechanism He divinely uses, hence my faith, that John 3:16-17 is true and that theif is with Jesus Christ today.
There's a lot of good info from gotquestions.org, but be aware that the site has Calvinistic leanings - specifically Amyraldism.
