What will it take for European leaders to realize that they can't put this toothpaste back into the tube? Almost all of Iran's former leaders and most of their military leaders are recently dead. The Iranian citizens are rising up and fighting back against the IRGC, and want to overthrow the Mullah regime. The regional countries have had enough and want the Iranian regime gone.

All "stop fighting & negotiations" would do is prolong the pain and give the Iranian IRGC a chance to recover and regroup.

Europeans might not like it... but the U.S. is the world's largest exporter of LNG. We do import some oil from the Persian Gulf. Roughly 5% of U.S. crude oil comes from the Middle East, but only about 2.5% of U.S. oil imports pass through the Strait of Hormuz. A shutdown of the Strait doesn't affect us as much.

About 15% of Europe's oil supply comes from the Persian Gulf area, and about 6%-7% passes through the Strait of Hormuz.

China imports about half of its crude oil from the Persian Gulf region. In 2025, 42% of China's crude oil imports, 4.9 million barrels per day, came from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar. Another 12% came from Iran on those "shadow tankers". That's 54% of China's total crude imports, and about 32% of China's crude imports pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
