We we're always nice about our freedom. Stupid when others abuse it.
Unfortunately so many Americans fall to asymmetrical thinking --- I'm an American, who loves freedom and pursuing what I love therefore that's what immigrants like Muslims want too!!!

I ask this question as well and the only answer I came up with is that he went with the known incumbent rather than take a chance on a newbie who he isn’t well informed about and not willing to take the chance….the whole know your enemy thing. But I’m not happy with that answer either. Abbott is clearly selling out Texas.
