Lord Palmerston (rime minister of the United Kingdom from 1855 to 1858 and from 1859 to his death in 1865) once said that Great Britain has no permanent allies or permanent enemies, only permanent interests.
In the era of MAGA, Trump might very well say the same thing about America. We have been in NATO since the end of WWII, and its mission ended when the Soviet Union fell. New alliances have arisen since then... and old alliances are now gone through cowardice and laziness.
It's way past time to reevaluate NATO and new alliances.
Surprisingly Ukraine stepped up and offered their drone technology that they have developed on their own. So far they have 10 year agreements with several Gulf states and more are on the way. They already sent around 100 technicians with drones to the Gulf to help deal with Iranian drone attacks. I would much rather see them develop their own enterprises to support themselves than constantly holding their hand out.
I have to give them some credit here as they have at least offered more assistance than their European neighbors. The Ukrainians have also come up with some unique armor adaptations against attack drones to the Abrams tank that even the US is seriously looking at. Ukraine is quickly on track in creating their own domestic development and manufacturing of weapons out of necessity given at some point they will be cut off by the US and the rest of Europe is not reliable.
Good question. From what I understand Ukraine is developing tech that they are selling for money. There have also been investors interested in what they are making. The US in one of them. Countries are lining up to buy their drone and missile equipment along with their expertise they have acquired - especially in defending against Iranian and Russian drones as well as their own cheap attack drones.
I would much rather have them make their own way than being a charity case. As far as I know, these ventures are their own. They are trying to establish businesses to be self sufficient not only to fund the current war, but also to have something to rebuild with. They have been too constrained with the restrictions that have been placed upon them by the countries providing them with weapons. So they decided to make some of their own. Some of it is pretty impressive and it has been pushing the Russians back and breaking some of the stalemate. We shall see. Just get this over already and we need to get out. Biden already spent enough money over there.
Much of our Army can come home. We want the air bases and base protection. A significant portion of the 5% GDP that Trump got them to promise to use on their military will go to the US defense companies. And I think a 3 year tour in Europe is a good thing for our military members. Gives you a greater understanding of the European countries. And European vacations are a lot cheaper.

FUCK UKRAINE. Im sorry for yelling.
This reminds me if the quote "I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member".
Ukraine needs a purging first and Zelensky will never be acceptable.

With whose money?

Japan and Poland, yes. They stopped the invasion of their country by Muslims. The others have been invaded and conquered, without a shot being fired.
Today is Easter Saturday. Why not chill somewhat on your rage baiting posts.
To be fair, on Holy Saturday why are you on the computer surfing a site where rage bait rages daily
I spend time on GAW daily. Some days deserve special recognition.
Happy Easter
Happy Easter ZDT.
Yeah because Ukraine is such a great country to ally with. They cant even hold their own with Russia.

Why the hell would Ukraine be part of it
