The "leaker" was probably not in the Trump Administration... but more likely was in the Pentagon.
In early 2026, the Pentagon imposed and then revised restrictive press access policies that effectively barred many major news organizations from operating inside the building.
A federal judge ruled in March 2026 that the initial policy was unconstitutional, siding with The New York Times in a lawsuit that argued the rules violated First and Fifth Amendment rights by banning reporters from soliciting unauthorized information (aka; asking Pentagon officials to disclose classified information anonymously).
Maybe now the Pentagon will simply deny press access unless escorted there for a press conference.
They fixed the problem with the ruling. They set up an off site press room/office for pentagon journalists. I don't believe they have access to the pentagon even though the treasonous judge said they could.
