Did you know that Cuba was being considered for our 49th state with Alaska to be the 50th in 1958/9? When it well to Castro on New Year’s Day, 1959, we got Alaska, then Hawai’i to be our two new states that year.

I did know Cuba was considered repeatedly. Though not the specifics of every time it came up for consideration.

Frankly given how weird things have been. I’m kinda just waiting for them to declare Antarctica, the Moon, or someplace out of left-field like that a State or territory. It’d track with how weird things have gotten.
