Trump told the Guardian in 1988 he would take Kharg Island. He took out a full-page ad in 1987 saying America should stop protecting ships it does not own. Thirty-eight years later, Marines are in the Arabian Sea and the Donroe Doctrine is American energy policy.

You can think he is full of shit. You can also notice that his shit keeps happening.

I am not in the business of defending politicians. I am in the business of telling you where the aircraft carriers are and what it means for your money. The carriers do not care about your opinion of the commander in chief. Neither does oil at $92.

This aligns with Steve Bannon (Think it was he who said it) saying trumps taking the oil and we're selling to china, this gives us leverage for rare earths from China, no rare earths, no oil.

I was wondering how the "pay $2 million and coordinate with our military" was going to go over. Good article.
