Sorry but this is bs. The roads became clogged because the Iranian authorities offered a substantial cash reward for the capture of the pilots, and masses of people swarmed into the area for the reward, and also to be heroes to the Iranians.
The idea they swarmed the area to block the authorities is silly propaganda.
The second guy they rescued wasn't the pilot he was the WSO (Weapon Systems Operator).
