This is why, as parents, you don't leave your kid alone with anyone you can't fully background check. Yeah, it sucks because you can't get some free time when you want a date night when they're young, but it keeps your most precious and vulnerable family members safe.

Edited to add, YES it is a thing…. My kid said their kids dentist office was pissed at her for going back with her daughter who was scared, and was told if she can’t be seen alone they need to find another dentist (which they did)
Idk, my kid was pissed… she never took them back. They said they want the kids to feel comfortable with them… No way!!
Good thing she was there too, she didn’t want any fluoride treatment given, at the counter they were all smiles and said ‘sure thing no fluoride, we’ll mark her chart (because of allergy). My dayghter saw the hygienist open a packet and good thing she questioned what it was … Fluoride of course! They were about to wipe it all over her mouth after the cleaning.
