20% of their GDP is tied directly to USA sales.
They buy quality goods from the US as well, and they don't have an alternate supplier. There's security concerns and domestic economic concerns dealing with China.
Oil and gas ...they NEED ours... because they're fukt right now and into the foreseeable future with energy. Don't want it? NO WORRIES! We have OTHER BUYERS!!!
No matter how hard they try playing off their dependency on the USA, they can't shake their reliance on us.
They're going to have to put their big boy pants on and cobble together their own weak, outdated military if the US does a military Interruptus... They're so far behind it's not funny.
Little old Greece is WAY ahead of most... although Germany might be the only half way decent contender... because reasons.
