Most of the British Navy is aging and decrepit. With the majority held in port at any given instance undergoing repairs and refits to buy the aging ships slightly longer. In fact they’ve got more Admirals than ships.
Their vaunted Carriers are essentially bound to Port and Costal Waters because they can’t assemble enough active warships to make 1 Carrier Battlegroup. Let alone two.
They planned on retiring most of their Tanks. In fact they already have more Horses than active Tanks in service.
The RAFs capabilities have also degraded majorly.
They’d need to earmark a mind boggling amount of money with strict and enforced requirements on how it’s spent. To even come close to rebuilding to fight a War.
Did I mention they rent their Nukes from the U.S?
The state of the Military was so bad. Several Prime Ministers seriously entertained offering to fold British Naval and Ground Assets into U.S formations to offset some costs for them. Essentially acting as Imperial Auxiliaries.
