The Building was built almost 140 years ago. It likely had a more vibrant exterior at one point. Dulled by both time, the environment, and being in city limits of the cesspit that is Washington D.C for all that.

If I recall, some former attempt to get clearance to paint it was denied. Maybe during his first term?
