As your home appreciates in value, it becomes more expensive to carry your trash away?
I have a fire fighter who is a good friend. They have the best 401K's / pensions imaginable. When the city votes for a millage increase, the fire department invests it into his retirement. He has been a fireman for 15 years and already has over a million dollars to retire on. They get full retirement at 20 years. Seems a little dramatic on our taxes.
